Baby name numerology chooses a name whose number is friendly to the child’s Moolank and Bhagyank. How a baby name is checked
- The child’s birth numbers. Moolank from the day of birth and Bhagyank from the full date, with the Vedic grid of the birth date.
- The name number. Chaldean value of the first name and of the full name as it will be used, with its compound total and root.
- Fit. The name root should be friendly to the Bhagyank, the compound total should be favourable, and the name should not overload a number the grid already has.
- Spelling options. Where a liked name does not fit, close spellings that do (for example an extra vowel or a doubled consonant).

Frequently asked questions
Can I choose the baby name before birth?
Names can be shortlisted before birth, but the final check needs the actual date of birth, because the Moolank and Bhagyank come from it.
Should the name number match the birth number?
It need not be the same number. It should be friendly to the child’s destiny number and have a favourable compound total. Some numbers, such as a plain 8 total, are generally avoided for names.
Can numerology work with nakshatra letters?
Yes. Many families choose a starting syllable from the birth star; numerology then picks the spelling within those syllables that suits the date of birth.
Which spelling is used, the one at home or on the birth certificate?
The name as it will be written and used most, usually the birth-certificate spelling. Nicknames are checked separately if they will be used widely.
